Footcare Treatments

Our feet are made up of a complex arrangement of bones, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments and tissue. We really owe them a lot! Over time, our feet are subject to an awful lot of wear and tear. I offer a variety of footcare treatments that can help with various foot ailments.

As a mobile footcare professional with over 10 years experience, I have treated hundreds of clients. Below are a selection of some of the main footcare treatments I offer.

Corns and Calluses treatment

Corns and calluses are hard or thick areas of skin and can occur on both the feet and toes. They are often caused and exacerbated by friction or rubbing of the skin against shoes. Treatment of corns and calluses involves removing the dead tissue. I can also offer advice to help prevent their recurrence.

Verruca treatment

Verrucae are a type of wart which are caused by a viral infection. They can cause quite a lot of pain and can spread to other areas of the foot if not treated. I can offer appropriate treatment to reduce the pain and help eliminate the verruca. The course of treatment I recommend depends on the severity of the verruca.

Ingrown toenails treatment

There are a number of causes of ingrown toenails such as wearing tight-fitting shoes and socks, incorrectly cutting nails or indeed the stubbing of a toe can lead to an ingrown toenail. An ingrown toenail can be very painful particularly when pressure is applied to the toe. Luckily I can treat this condition as well as offer advice around future prevention.

Fungal nail infection treatment

Fungal nail infections are more common than you may realise. It can develop if your feet feel warm and damp too much of the time. Although not serious it can be unsightly and result in a loss of confidence. I can help with the appearance of nails that have a fungal infection and also offer advice in relation to treatment.

Toenail trimming

Toenail trimming is routinely done by me as a treatment along with other treatments. However it is an important footcare treatment in its own right particularly for clients with reduced flexibility such as some older adults and people with mobility issues as well as for diabetic clients.

A pedicure combines a number of treatments. A full pedicure involves the exfoliation, hydration, softening and massaging of your skin, the treatment of your cuticles and the trimming and shaping of your nails. When doing a pedicure I aim to make your feet feel and look fabulous!
